Couples Lifequest
9:15–10:15 a.m., Church Room 5
Couples—many of whom are new parents—gather weekly for fellowship and study with conversation using a text/video that leads us to Bible study and the issues we face in our families, our marriages and professional lives. Participants enjoy a sense of belonging that extends to creative class social events and periodic mission activities.

Work in Progress: The Path of Spiritual Growth
9:15–10:15 a.m., School Room 236
For better or worse, our children look to us as role models for their spiritual growth and development. The words we use, the choices we make and the nature of our relationships all have an impact on how our children perceive their own relationship with God. Come join other parents as we look to deepen our own spiritual walk using Richard Foster’s Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth. Come enjoy fellowship and conversation as we grow deeper together.
Leaders: Steven and Karen Greisdorf
Format: Facilitated group discussion

Parents of Teens Group
Sunday Evenings, 6:30–8:00 p.m., Agencies 105
Parents of teenagers: drop your kids off for Youth Group and stick around for conversation, study and support with other parents of teens as we explore together our faith and how it impacts the lives of our families. We’re discussing Eugene Peterson’s book for parents of teenagers, Like Dew Your Youth (the title is based on a Psalm 110:3). The group takes a break on the first Sunday of the month for social time.

WomenConnect
9:15–10:15 a.m., School Library
We will begin our new term with a six-week study of prayer, taught by Mildred Wheat, a veteran Bible teacher. The focus will be on people in prayer—people like Abraham, Jacob, Hannah, Moses, and others in the Bible. We will look at these prayers to learn how people of faith—some heroic leaders, others rather ordinary—approached our loving God whose heart longs for relationship with His children. Other topical studies will follow.

The Bible’s Greatest Story: Scripture’s 100 Essential Passages About the Life of Jesus   NEW
9:15–10:15 a.m., Agencies 101
Discover who Jesus is and why he is so significant—in just 18 weeks. Through both Old and New Testament readings we’ll explore why God sent Jesus, what Jesus taught, how he treated people, why he did miracles, the meaning of his death, the significance of his resurrection and what the Bible says about his second coming. And that’s just for starters! Intended for those with little or no previous background in Bible study.

A Better Savior: The Book of Hebrews       NEW
9:15–10:15 a.m., Elson Parlor
The New Testament Book of Hebrews is a carefully reasoned treatise written to strengthen believers who were considering abandoning the Christian faith and reverting back to Judaism—to a safer and less stressful life in the familiar culture and religion of their past.  Nearly every Christian struggles with the temptation to go back to our “old ways,” whatever those might be.  The author of Hebrews demonstrates convincingly, through a complex and sophisticated argument, that Jesus is better than whatever we might be tempted or inclined to substitute in his place, encouraging us to stay the course of commitment to Jesus Christ.
Teachers: Quinn Fox, Margaret Gardner and Donna Marsh

Encounters with Jesus: Following Him to the Cross and Beyond the Tomb   NEW
9:15–10:15 a.m., Agencies 105
This Bible course is designed to help its participants deepen their understanding of Jesus’ mission and how he related to a wide range of people during the final stages of his ministry. The class will focus on the key events leading to Palm Sunday and his crucifixion and then Jesus’ post-resurrection encounters. We will study the context of Jesus’ ministry in order to better understand the content of His message.  Our goal is to take a fresh look at Jesus in order to better understand how we can live as faithful disciples of his in our world.
