Dr. Douglas A. Learned, Executive Pastor
Since June 11, 2006, Dr. Douglas A. Learned has served NPC as Executive Pastor.
Doug has a passion for international missions, believing that Christian communities in the United States can play an important role in the work of the Holy Spirit among churches around the world. He is the pastoral resource for Serve ministries at NPC, which focuses on Outreach, Missions, and Congregational Care. He also supervises Connections in Ministry and Mission, Communications, and Personnel. Doug serves as Head of Staff and Interim Moderator of Session.
Doug came to NPC from the Presbytery of Chicago, where he served as the Pastor and Head of Staff of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, west of Chicago.
Doug received a Bachelor's Degree in Religion from Kalamazoo College (Michigan) and a Master's of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. In 2007 he received a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching through the Chicago Theological Schools and McCormick Theological Seminary.
